ABOUT US
We are a family of 4, (2 young children) from Sheffield in South Yorkshire, we relocated too Turkey Altinkum permently in November 2007. We made this decision after we brought some villas on the Kings Villa Complex and we enjoyed ourselves so much during the summer holidays last year.
Kings Villas Complex is just 5 mins drive to the local beaches, 10 mins drive to Akbuk and 15 mins to Altinkum, it is very peaceful surrounded by mountain views, but has many facilities such a 3 pools, pool bar, shop and food area, childrens play area, tennis courts and basket ball courts.
Since we have been here permently we have enjoyed meeting friends on both the complex and in the local areas of Akbuk and Altinkum. Turkish people are all friendly and will go every mile to ensure you are happy!
Our children are now settled in school and nursery and we are all enjoying learning the Turkish language and culture. Our lifestyle here in Turkey is much more laid back, enjoying the sun, beach and the complex facilities such as pools and tennis and basketball courts. We spend a lot of time having fun games with other families on the complex, not that we are much good. The food which we buy from the local markets are also very fresh and cheap.
For a family which needed this welcomed change in lifestyle we have no regrets that we chose to come to Turkey. We are able to benefit from more family time which was very rare in the UK, we are looking forward to many BBQ’s and boat trips this summer.
The language barrier is not so much of a problem as time goes on and after a while even the Turkish Tomorrow becomes part of daily life, once you except the different culture you are half way there. As we now say in Turkey No problem!!!
We have no regrets about leaving our life behind in the UK!!
